TitleCopy typescript message
DescriptionCopy typescript message (6 pp, and copy) entitled 'Substantive response' from [British government] to [Sinn Féin], promising to begin talks a week after parliament reconvenes, if certain conditions regarding the ceasefire are met. Attaching firstly a 'procedural annex' on the proposed exploratory talks, and secondly the joint statement of Prime Minister and Taoiseach of 29 October. (With extensive caption and commentary by [Éamonn Downey] partly arising from an interview with Duddy on 10 February 2008; indicating Sinn Féin took this as a de facto response to their 10 May document; discussing at length predicament for them in receiving the 22 February/2 November 'bogus' message only then, and having to justify their own actions before the Provisional Army Council.)
